The Fascinating Life of Henry Adams

Henry Adams was born in Boston in 1838, studied at Harvard.  He went to Berlin to study law. In London, he was personal secretary to his father Charles Francis Adams. In 1868, he returned to Washington, DC, where he exerted as a political journalist. Between 1877 and 1911, he wrote some history books. He is also author of Democracy, An American Novel, Esther, and in 1906 printed his autobiography.

This biography is very peculiar. Actually, the article shows us how he was acquiring an intellectual learning. In his family there are many prominent Adams, which guides his life to continuous learning. While Henry Adams graduate at a university, Harvard, supposedly one of the most important universities in North America. However, he was interested in the teaching of life, contact with influential people in politics, science, literature, art, and his continuous travel. Also, recognition firsthand the classic texts, and visits to the library of his father, one of the largest in Boston with about 18,000 books. This accumulated throughout his life, was a contribution to knowledge linking the historical past with the future of humanity.

Henry Adams is a representative of his family in the political theories. Visions that was important in his life. His father Charles Francis was a historian, congressman and diplomat. His mother Abigail Brown Brooks belonged to one of the wealthiest families in Boston. His grandfather John Quincy Adams was the sixth President of the USA, which was a reference to him, and his great-grandfather John Adams, who was the second President of the U.S. With the familiar campus , and used to interact with other friendly and family- presidents, secretaries of states and in an atmosphere of wealth and culture,  his vision of the world, could be anything. He was moving in the highest circles of power, but always remained free.

Besides all this, it is interesting to note, in Henry Adams faces life as generals addresses the mainly political problems, and as the various political administrations lives. Adams was always in the political atmosphere of the exercise of power.

Adams was an eternal learner. Today, some people are content to study a single specialization, without to mention that there are exceptions. Henry Adams extensively study Greek and Roman literature, mathematics, government, botany, astronomy, physics and French. However, his studies did not stop, and he went to Berlin to study law. For couples, the life of Henry Adams contains very inspiring stages, and although I'm not well versed in the history of North American politics, I think that reading about his life, it motivates me to move my point of view, and learn about how Adams lived in his time and intellectually adapt his theories in this new century.

It has been found very successful to know to Henry Adams, whom I consider a scholar, possessed of extraordinary and important qualities, although I feel intimidated by the number and dimension of what he knew. Learn about of life of Henry Adams, who grew up and educated in a family of presidents, is really fascinating.
